Reduce Agitation and Improve Quality of Life for People Living with Dementia

When a resident becomes agitated at the same time every afternoon, that isn't randomness. It's a message. The farmer is telling you the cows need milking. The mother is telling you the kids are due home from school. The tradesman is telling you his shift is over.

Person-centred dementia care starts from a simple idea: strip away the disease, and the person is still in there, with a lifetime of routines, roles and identity. NeuronsVR helps your team answer what a resident is actually asking for, by taking them back to the place their mind is already trying to reach.

It's easy to administer a psychotropic to settle the behaviour. It's better to fulfil the need behind it.

What happens after the headset comes off

The clinical value of a NeuronsVR session largely happens after it ends. As a resident returns from a familiar, meaningful environment, care teams consistently observe three things:

Calm

The resident grounds back into the room, noticeably settled. Heart rate typically drops by 8 to 10 beats per minute during a session, and the physical stillness is visible to everyone in the room.

Memory

Then comes the "I remember" moment. Prompted by where they've just been, residents begin telling stories of their youth, and often stories their care team has never heard before.

Connection

Finally, a release: laughter, or happy tears. A moment of connection to identity that no activity sheet reaches.

That changed state lasts for two to three hours. Run the same program at the same time every day and the window of calm opens wider over time. Settle the resident whose 3:30 PM agitation used to trigger the whole wing, and you haven’t just calmed one person. You’ve broken the domino effect for the whole unit.

NeuronsVR sessions are scheduled, documented interventions, not one-off novelties. Programs are matched to each resident’s life story, run by your existing staff in under a minute of setup, and recorded in a format ready for care plan reviews, Behaviour Support Plans and ACQSC reporting.

See it work on the resident your team finds hardest to reach.

Pain Management

Support Pain Management Without Increasing Medication

For residents dealing with chronic or procedural pain, NeuronsVR provides a non-pharmacological option that works alongside existing care plans. It is not a replacement, but a clinically supported addition.

Programs use structured visual and auditory content to support comfort, reduce pain-related anxiety, and help residents stay calm during procedures like wound care and dressing changes. Nursing and care teams use these programs as an adjunct during routine pain management.

Comfort, Dignity, and Connection at End of Life

At end of life, unfinished business has a way of keeping people awake. Concerns about the family, the house, the things left unsaid. NeuronsVR's palliative programs give residents something to settle into: a meaningful place, a familiar environment, a moment of calm that doesn't require words.

Families can share the experience together, which changes what a visit looks like. Instead of sitting in silence, they're somewhere together. That matters when words aren't enough.

Programs are gentle, non-stimulating, and selected to match each resident's life history, cultural background, and personal preferences. They run offline, in the resident's own room, in under a minute of setup.

Ready-To-Run Programs Your Lifestyle Calendar Can Use Immediately

NeuronsVR isn’t a device your team has to build activities around. The activities come with it. Every subscription includes a growing resource library of session plans, printable materials and multisensory pairings, built from what hundreds of facilities actually run week to week.

The NeuronsVR library sits at around 180 programs. That’s enough to match every resident’s story, and structured enough that your team can actually weave it into care plans. New programs are released monthly, along with printables, menu recommendations and tips for integrating it into your daily activity programs.
